Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire Is Paused For Cinderella Castle Stage Maintenance

There is a reason Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire has gone quiet at Magic Kingdom, and it is not the weather. The Cinderella Castle stage show was removed from the entertainment schedule from July 7 through July 14, lining up with a refurbishment of the Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage listed for the same window, and showtimes are already posted for its return on July 15.

Refinishing The Castle Forecourt Stage

The Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage is one of the hardest-working surfaces at Walt Disney World, hosting multiple performances a day in front of enormous crowds, and it takes a beating from both performers and Central Florida weather. The stage was previously refurbished in 2024 and 2025, and work of this kind requires clearing the area entirely, which means the show cannot run while it is underway.

The timing matters because the pause happened to coincide with a punishing stretch of weather in Central Florida, where Walt Disney World has been under National Weather Service heat advisories for three consecutive days with heat index values of up to 110 degrees. That led to natural speculation that the show had been sidelined by the temperatures. The schedule change was posted in early July, before the advisories began, which points to planned upkeep rather than a heat-related cancellation.

What Guests Can Expect

Guests visiting Magic Kingdom during the pause will find the castle stage empty, though the park’s other entertainment offerings continue as normal. Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire is currently scheduled to resume performances on Wednesday, July 15, though showtimes are always subject to change.

Anyone planning a visit in the coming days should still take the heat seriously, staying hydrated and building indoor breaks into their touring plan. We covered the resort’s efforts to manage the Florida climate when Walt Disney World announced its solar projects can now produce up to 100 percent of the resort’s daytime power needs. Guests can confirm the latest showtimes on the official Walt Disney World website before heading to the park.
