Two new Coco floral displays are going in at the Downtown Disney District, five days before Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month begins. Neither is finished. Signage at the displays indicates more flowers are still to come, and the work looks close enough to completion that the finished versions should be in place within a day or so.

What Is Actually There
The two new pieces draw on Disney and Pixar’s Coco, the film Disneyland leans on hardest for this stretch of the calendar. Floral work has been the district’s signature contribution to the observance for years, and the arrangements tend to arrive before any of the food, merchandise or entertainment does.
What is planted so far reads clearly as Coco, but both displays have gaps waiting on additional plant material. Anyone heading over specifically to photograph them is better off waiting a day.
The precedent is the silletas, the Colombian-inspired arrangements Disney introduced in Downtown Disney in 2022 in connection with Encanto. One of those featured 27 flags in alphabetical order representing 27 Latin American and Hispanic nations, built with plant material native to countries across South and Central America. Since then the district has carried some version of the idea every fall.
Isabela Moved
The Isabela floral display that debuted in Downtown Disney last year is back for a second run, and it is not where it was. It now sits in front of Napolini, which puts it on a busier stretch of walkway than it held before.

Isabela is the Madrigal sister whose gift is making plants grow and flowers bloom, which makes her the obvious character to render in flowers.
The Timing
Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month runs September 15 through October 15, the same window the observance holds nationally, anchored to the independence anniversaries of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua on September 15, with Mexico and Chile two and three days later.
Decorations going up early, and going up in stages, is normal here. In past years the murals, stage dressing and floral elements have been in place before the first day, with the food and entertainment schedule following. Disney has not yet published its full 2026 lineup for the Disneyland Resort, so what is confirmed at this point is what is physically installed in the district.
What Usually Comes Next
Recent years have brought live music at the Downtown Disney LIVE! stage, mariachi and DJ sets on weekends, crafts near the stage, and specialty menu items across the resort, alongside the Coco Floral Skull Sipper that has become a fixture of the season. Over at Disney California Adventure, Plaza de la Familia carries the same Coco material deeper into the fall, overlapping Día de los Muertos on November 1 and 2.
Downtown Disney has had a busy few weeks either way, with free Wednesday movie nights returning September 9 and construction continuing on the esplanade next door.
We will update this story once the displays are finished, and again when Disney publishes the full Disneyland Resort lineup for the observance.
