What is Camp Rock 3?
Camp Rock 3 is the long-awaited third installment in Disney’s beloved franchise, serving as a sequel to Camp Rock (2008) and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010). Produced by Disney Branded Television, it will premiere on both Disney+ and Disney Channel in August 2026.
The first two films rank among the Top 10 Disney Channel Original Movies of all time, each debuting as the No. 1 cable movie premiere in their respective years. Sixteen years later, the franchise is finally continuing and the nostalgia is very real.

The plot
The story picks up 15 years after Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, when Connect 3 loses their opening act ahead of a major reunion tour. In search of fresh talent, the band returns to their beloved Camp Rock to discover the next big thing. As a new generation of campers compete for the coveted opening act slot, tensions rise, friendships are tested, and unexpected alliances, revelations, and romances unfold.
Returning cast
The Jonas Brothers as Connect 3
The three brothers reprise their iconic roles:
- Joe Jonas as Shane Gray, the lead singer and fan-favorite heartthrob
- Nick Jonas as Nate Gray, the introspective and musically gifted member
- Kevin Jonas as Jason Gray, still apparently waiting on that birdhouse
“Music, friendship, memories. We’re back, exactly where we’re supposed to be.” Nick and Joe Jonas in the December 2025 teaser. Kevin’s contribution: “Still no birdhouse.”
Maria Canals-Barrera as Connie
Best known as Theresa Russo on Wizards of Waverly Place, Maria Canals-Barrera returns as Connie Torres, the camp’s beloved cook.
What about Demi Lovato?
Demi Lovato, who played Mitchie Torres in both original films, is officially involved but as an Executive Producer, not a confirmed cast member. Whether Mitchie appears on-screen remains an open question.
“You can’t really talk about Camp Rock or have a Camp Rock movie without referencing her. We love Mitchie.” Director Veronica Rodriguez, Entertainment Weekly

How did Camp Rock 3 come together?
In August 2025, Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas reunited on stage during the Jonas Brothers’ tour, performing the Camp Rock classic “This Is Me” together. Demi’s husband, Jordan “Jutes” Lutes, commented “Movie” with three clapping emojis under her recap video and the internet ran with it.
Weeks later, Joe appeared on Hot Ones Versus and was asked to read his most recent Notes app reminder aloud. His response: “Read Camp Rock 3… Sorry, Disney.” By September 2025, the project was officially greenlit and cameras were rolling.
