D23 Is Hosting Special Beauty And The Beast 35th Anniversary Screenings With Mark Henn And Paige O’Hara

Beauty and the Beast is turning 35 this year, and D23 is marking the occasion with special anniversary screenings. Disney Legend Mark Henn, the supervising animator of Belle, and Paige O’Hara, the voice of Belle herself, will join D23 members for a series of special theatrical screenings of the 1991 animated classic.

Beauty and the Beast was released on November 13, 1991. It became the first animated film ever nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. It won the Oscar for Best Original Score and Best Original Song. It also launched a Broadway musical that has run for decades. The film is one of the crown jewels of the Disney Renaissance and one of the most beloved animated films ever made.

About Mark Henn And Paige O’Hara

Mark Henn is a Disney Legend and one of the most accomplished animators in Disney history. He supervised the animation of Ariel, Jasmine, Young Simba, Tiana, and Moana in addition to Belle. Paige O’Hara brought Belle to life with warmth and intelligence that made the character instantly iconic. She has remained closely connected to the Disney community in the years since.

Having both of them present for these anniversary screenings makes this a genuinely special D23 event. Fans who attend will get a rare chance to hear from two people who shaped one of Disney’s greatest films firsthand.
