Avengers: Doomsday Tickets Go On Sale July 20 As Its 165 Minute Runtime Is Revealed

Avengers: Doomsday tickets are about to go on sale, and fans now know how long they will be in their seats this December. According to an exclusive report from The Hollywood Reporter, Disney plans to launch domestic pre-sales on Monday, July 20, a full five months before the film opens in theaters on December 18.

Tickets Arrive First For Infinity Vision Screens

The initial sale will not cover every theater. Tickets will first be available for Infinity Vision screens, a new premium large format brand Disney established for the film. The designation was created after Warner Bros. locked up exclusive IMAX bookings for Dune: Part Three, which opens against Doomsday in December. The strategy echoes Universal’s move to sell select IMAX tickets for The Odyssey a full year in advance, an approach that generated enormous buzz for Christopher Nolan’s epic.

Disney will also offer Infinity Vision tickets for a re-release of Avengers: Endgame, titled Avengers: Endgame Encore, arriving September 25. Endgame remains the second highest grossing film of all time with $2.8 billion worldwide, trailing only Avatar.

A 165 Minute Runtime, For Now

The ticketing plan also revealed a current runtime of 165 minutes, or two hours and 45 minutes. That places Doomsday above Avengers: Infinity War at 149 minutes but below Avengers: Endgame at 181 minutes. The final cut is unlikely to be locked this far out, but once showtimes are scheduled, the runtime can only shift by a small margin. Marvel declined to comment on the report.

The pre-sale launch lands just days before Marvel takes the stage at San Diego Comic-Con on July 25, where the studio is widely expected to debut the film’s first full trailer as the MCU returns to Hall H. An online trailer release seems likely as well, particularly with tickets already on sale. Doomsday pits Earth’s Mightiest Heroes against Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., with an enormous ensemble that includes Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Paul Rudd, Pedro Pascal, and Anthony Mackie.
