Disneyland Resort has confirmed that “World of Color – Season of Light” returns to Disney California Adventure on Friday, November 13, 2026, ending a one year absence for the holiday edition of the Paradise Bay nighttime spectacular. The date was published in the Disney Parks Blog’s 2026 guide to Holidays at the Disneyland Resort, a season that runs November 13 through Wednesday, January 6, 2027.
The show did not run during the 2025 holiday season. Disney kept “World of Color Happiness!” in Paradise Bay through the holidays instead, since that version was built for the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration and the anniversary carried on into 2026. With the 70th now over, the holiday show gets its slot back.
What Is In The Show
“Season of Light” sets holiday music against moments from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar films, projected onto the wall of mist above the fountains. Disney’s guide singles out Beauty and the Beast and Inside Out this year. Recent runs have also pulled from Aladdin, Lilo and Stitch, Sleeping Beauty, Frozen and Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas, across a performance that runs roughly 23 minutes. Unlike most versions of “World of Color,” it has no host and almost no narration, letting the songs carry the show.
The “World of Color – Season of Light” Dessert Party is also returning, alongside the “A Christmas Fantasy Parade” dining package at Plaza Inn. Disney says pricing and booking details for both will be shared at a later date.
A Decade In Paradise Bay
“Season of Light” debuted on November 10, 2016, replacing the earlier holiday edition “World of Color – Winter Dreams,” which had run since 2013. It was the fourth full production staged on the Paradise Bay fountains since the original “World of Color” opened in June 2010, and it has returned for several holiday seasons since, with gaps along the way including the pandemic closure and last year’s 70th anniversary programming. Its 2026 run marks ten years since the premiere.
The return also completes a busy year of rotation in Paradise Bay. “World of Color Happiness!” closed with the 70th Celebration on August 9, and “World of Color – One” came back the following night for a limited run through the Halloween season. “Season of Light” now takes over from November 13 through the end of the holidays, and the resort has already said that Paint the Night has given its final performance, so the fountains are the main nighttime draw on the California Adventure side this winter.
The Rest Of The Holiday Lineup At California Adventure
Disney Festival of Holidays returns to California Adventure with six marketplaces and the Sip and Savor Pass, along with Disney ¡Viva Navidad! in Paradise Gardens Park and a street party cavalcade with the Holiday Toy Drummers travelling from Paradise Gardens Park to Hollywood Land at select times each day. Mickey Mouse and friends turn out in winter attire on Buena Vista Street.
Cars Land brings back Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl and Mater’s Jingle Jamboree, with the lights coming on at sunset each day in the land’s “Sh-boom” moment, and Redwood Creek Challenge Trail becomes the setting for Santa’s Holiday Visit. Across the esplanade at Disneyland Park, Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle, “Believe… In Holiday Magic” fireworks, “A Christmas Fantasy Parade,” “it’s a small world” Holiday and Haunted Mansion Holiday all return, and Santa moves to a new spot at Mickey’s Toontown Trolley Barn. Downtown Disney turns over on November 13 as well, with a nightly snowfall.
Disney has not yet posted a performance schedule for “Season of Light.” Showtimes will be listed on the Disneyland entertainment calendar and in the Disneyland app closer to the season, and the show may not run every night.
