ABC released the official Abbott Elementary Season 6 trailer on Wednesday, Sept. 30, one week before the comedy returns Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 8:30 p.m. ET. The trailer, which People debuted exclusively, is set to Guns N’ Roses’ “Welcome to the Jungle” and shows Tyler James Williams’ Gregory Eddie juggling his classroom and his new job as Abbott’s assistant principal.
What The Trailer Shows
Quinta Brunson’s Janine Teagues opens the trailer holding a plush bird and telling the cameras, “Welcome to the jungle.” Gregory, who has been “bumped up to assistant principal,” lays out his year: “I have two roles this year: Teacher me and assistant principal me.” Janelle James’ Principal Ava Coleman promises it’s “gonna be the best year yet.”
Lisa Ann Walter’s Melissa Schemmenti, Sheryl Lee Ralph’s Barbara Howard, Chris Perfetti’s Jacob Hill and William Stanford Davis’ Mr. Johnson also appear. People reported that the rest of the trailer features in-school rivalries and silly encounters with the kids before Janine returns with a warning: “Anything can happen in the jungle.”

The premiere episode is titled “Jungle Classroom.” ABC’s official logline reads: “Gregory and Ava adjust to a new dynamic, while Barbara turns to Jacob for help. Meanwhile, Janine gives her classroom a makeover, and Melissa works to win hers back.”
