Jackson Olson Joins ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 35 Cast

The ballroom just got a little more bananas. Savannah Bananas second baseman and content creator Jackson Olson has officially joined the Season 35 cast of Dancing With the Stars, as announced by Disney during its upfront presentation on Tuesday.

Who Is Jackson Olson?

Beyond his role as a second baseman for the Savannah Bananas, Olson is a content creator known for his takes on baseball, storytelling about family, relationships, food, and the journey of coming of age. He’s built a loyal online following by sharing authentic, relatable content including ballpark food adventures and the highs and lows of love and life on the road.

The Savannah Bananas have earned widespread fame for their “Banana Ball” games, which incorporate dance routines, comedy sketches, and song lip-syncs, making Olson a natural fit for the DWTS stage.

His casting had been heavily teased for months. Speculation kicked off in April when Olson posted on Instagram hinting at a big secret, writing that his life was about to “change a lot in the next year.” DWTS judge Derek Hough responded to the post with a simple 👀 emoji. Then on May 7, Olson posted an Instagram Reel of himself dancing with the caption “Soon…👀” and eagle-eyed fans spotted a small mirrorball tucked in the corner of a dugout in the background.

Who Else Is on the Season 35 Cast?

Olson is the third contestant confirmed for Season 35, joining The Traitors and Love Island breakout Maura Higgins and Summer House fan favorite Ciara Miller. The full cast, along with professional dance partners, will be announced on Wednesday, September 2, exclusively on Good Morning America.

When Does DWTS Season 35 Premiere?

ABC has confirmed Dancing With the Stars will air on Tuesday nights at 8/7c this fall, with a mid-September premiere expected. The season will simulcast live across ABC and Disney+, with episodes streaming next-day on Hulu.

A Bigger Disney and Savannah Bananas Partnership

Olson’s casting is just one piece of a larger deal. Disney also announced an expanded collaboration with the Savannah Bananas that includes Disney+ and the ESPN app exclusively streaming 25 of the team’s upcoming games, select matchups airing on ESPN and ABC, and the Banana Bowl championship game streaming live on Disney+ this October.

Dancing With the Stars exploded in popularity last season, drawing its largest audience in years fueled by interest from younger viewers, and with Jackson Olson’s massive social following, Season 35 is shaping up to be must-watch TV.
