Walt Disney Imagineering has filed a Notice of Commencement for general construction at 1610 Magic Kingdom Drive, an address that did not exist before and sits right beside the Haunted Mansion on the edge of the Piston Peak National Park and Villains Land construction site.

The filing lists Walt Disney Imagineering as the owner and PCL Construction Services Inc. of Orlando as the contractor. The only description of the work is “General Construction.” The expiration field was left blank, which defaults to one year from the date the notice is recorded.
Why The Address Matters
The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District keeps an address database for Walt Disney World property, and 1610 Magic Kingdom Drive has no entry in it. Existing buildings already carry their own addresses, so a new number usually points to a new structure.
The closest address in the database belongs to the Haunted Mansion at 1600 Magic Kingdom Drive. That puts the new filing in the corner of the park where Liberty Square meets the future entrances to Piston Peak National Park and Villains Land.
With Walt Disney Imagineering as the owner, the work is likely to be themed rather than a purely backstage job.
What It Could Be
The notice does not say what will be built. One likely candidate is the small building next to the Haunted Mansion that the 225-square-foot Piston Peak National Park model at D23 labeled as a restroom facility. That model laid out the full land, including its two announced attractions, Cars Ridge Run Rally and Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along. January permit filings put that building at roughly 5,800 square feet, sitting north and west of the Mansion and separating its grounds from the walkway into Villains Land.
The paperwork does not confirm it, and the address could belong to a different building on the site.
A Shift From Clearing To Building
In Florida, an owner files a Notice of Commencement before construction begins. The form states that it must be recorded and posted on the job site before the first inspection, which suggests work at this address is close to starting.
The contractor is a change, too. In July, Imagineering filed an amended notice for demolition and site preparation on the former Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America property, with NorthStar Contracting Group as the contractor. This new filing names a different firm and uses the broader “General Construction” description, which fits a site moving from clearing and utility work toward new buildings. A tower crane that went up on the Piston Peak site this summer was an earlier sign of the same shift.
Crews have been moving dirt across the site for months and installing pipes underground since early June, while the Frontierland boardwalk closed earlier this month as the work spread.
