Disney has raised prices on most Disney+ and Hulu plans, with the ad-free Premium tiers taking the biggest jump. Disney+ Premium and Hulu Premium each rise $2.50 to $21.49 a month, up from $18.99.
The new prices took effect Wednesday, September 23, for new subscribers. Existing subscribers will see them on their next monthly bill. It is the fourth price increase for Disney+ and Hulu in four years, and it comes almost exactly a year after the last one, which took Disney+ Premium from $15.99 to $18.99.
What Each Disney+ And Hulu Plan Costs Now
The ad-supported versions of Disney+ and Hulu each go up 50 cents, from $11.99 to $12.49 a month.
The Disney+ and Hulu Premium bundle, which removes ads on both services, climbs $2 to $21.99 a month, up from $19.99. The ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu bundle stays at $12.99 a month.
That leaves both bundles just 50 cents above a single service. A Premium subscriber paying $21.49 for Disney+ alone can add Hulu for another 50 cents a month, and an ad-supported subscriber paying $12.49 for either service can get both for $12.99.
The ESPN Bundles Already Went Up
Subscribers who get Disney+ and Hulu through an ESPN bundle took their increase last week. The Disney+, Hulu and ESPN Select bundle with ads rose from $19.99 to $21.99 a month, and the Premium version rose from $29.99 to $32.99. Those prices applied to new subscribers from August 20 and reached existing subscribers on billing periods starting on or after September 17.
The older legacy bundle, which pairs ad-free Disney+ with Hulu and ESPN Select and is closed to new sign-ups, went from $24.99 to $27.99 a month on the same schedule. Standalone ESPN Select went from $12.99 to $13.99 a month, and standalone ESPN Unlimited went from $29.99 to $31.99.
The Disney+, Hulu and ESPN Unlimited bundles were left alone in both rounds. The version with ads is still $35.99 a month, and the ad-free version is still $44.99.
How To Pay Less
The new price applies automatically, so subscribers only need to act if they want to change plans. Anyone paying for Disney+ Premium and Hulu Premium separately would now spend $42.98 a month, compared with $21.99 for the Premium bundle. A subscriber who only has Disney+ Premium can switch to the ad-supported plan at $12.49, or add Hulu through the bundle for 50 cents more than Disney+ alone.
The increase comes a week after Disney named Adam Smith chairman of direct-to-consumer, the role that oversees Disney+ and Hulu.
