Hulu has released the first trailer and key art for “Happy Hell-o-ween,” the 2026 Family Guy Halloween special, which sends Brian and Stewie to Hell and puts Kieran Culkin in charge of it as the voice of the Devil. The special premieres Monday, October 5 on Hulu and on Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers in the U.S., and streams exclusively on Disney+ in most international markets.
Hulu’s official synopsis: Brian and Stewie find themselves in Hell, “not an annoying day, the actual underworld,” paying for 24 seasons’ worth of bad behavior. When they manage to annoy even the Devil himself, they end up in charge.
What The Trailer Shows
The trailer opens with Brian and Stewie getting hit by a car on their way to a Halloween masquerade ball. Once they arrive below, Culkin’s Devil quickly decides the pair are more than he can handle. Stewie takes over and starts rolling out new management policies, announcing to the damned that “All torture is voluntary now.”
The footage is heavy on fire and classic underworld punishments, and it includes a mariachi band. Peter also turns up unexpectedly. A confused Stewie spots him and gets a deadpan explanation: in real life, Peter is choking on a Now and Later he refuses to chew. Then he gets it down and vanishes from the underworld.
Kieran Culkin Plays The Devil
Culkin’s casting was announced in July at the Family Guy panel at San Diego Comic-Con, where showrunner and executive producer Rich Appel revealed both of the 2026 specials and shared the first look at Culkin’s Devil. Alex Borstein, Arif Zahir, Jennifer Tilly and supervising director Peter Shin joined Appel on stage.
Hulu’s announcement nods to Succession, noting that after dancing with any number of devils on that series, Culkin now gets to play the Devil himself.
A Christmas Special Follows
“Happy Hell-o-ween” is the first of two Hulu exclusive Family Guy specials in fall 2026. It will be followed by a holiday special, “The Peter Clause,” in which Peter and the guys compete to become Quahog’s official Santa. Peter loses, and instead of processing his disappointment maturely, he chooses to give fans a memorable episode. This is the third straight year Family Guy has made Hulu exclusive holiday specials.
Family Guy is part of Hulu’s Animayhem adult animation lineup, which took over Downtown Disney with themed menus in August. The series itself returns to Fox for its 25th season in midseason, early in 2027, and streams the next day on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ in the U.S.
Family Guy is a 20th Television Animation production. Seth MacFarlane created the series and executive produces, and voices Peter, Stewie, Brian and Quagmire. Rich Appel and Alec Sulkin are executive producers and showrunners. The regular voice cast also includes Alex Borstein, Seth Green, Mila Kunis, Mike Henry, Patrick Warburton and Arif Zahir.
