The dented frame on the Star Tours sign at Disneyland is gone. The brushed steel border that wrapped the sign above the attraction’s Lightning Lane entrance in Tomorrowland has been taken off. The long gash across its lower edge had been there for years, and no one has been able to pinpoint when it happened.
The sign itself is still in place. The Star Tours logo, the blue panels behind it and the “The Adventures Continue” plate all remain, but the thick metal border that projected out from the bottom of the sign, the part that took the hit, is no longer there. What is left around the logo is the plainer gray border that sat behind the steel trim.
The Dent That Sat There For Years
We posted the damage on August 2, 2025, but it had already been there for a long time before that. Something had struck the lower ledge of the frame hard enough to crease the steel and leave a long scrape running most of the way across it, with rust-colored streaks along the gouge. It was easy to miss from the queue but obvious once you looked up at the sign from the walkway.

Disney never said what caused the damage, and it has not said anything about the frame coming off. The ledge sits well above guest height, so whatever hit it was not something a guest could reach from the walkway, but what it actually was has never been explained. For years the damaged frame simply stayed up, greeting every Lightning Lane rider on the way in.
The Stand-By Sign Still Has Its Frame
Star Tours has two matching signs at Disneyland, one over the Lightning Lane entrance and one over the Stand-By Entrance. The Stand-By sign was never damaged and still has its full brushed steel frame, which makes the difference easy to see if you walk between the two.
Disney has not said whether a new frame is coming or when. For now the Lightning Lane sign looks noticeably flatter than its twin, and anyone who remembers the dent will spot the change right away.
What It Means For Guests
The change is cosmetic. It involves the exterior trim on one sign, not the attraction itself, and Star Tours: The Adventures Continue still loads guests through both the Stand-By and Lightning Lane entrances beneath the two signs.
Star Tours is one of several spots in Tomorrowland that will be worth watching over the next few years, with a Tomorrowland reimagining officially on the way as the resort’s next major project. We will keep an eye on the Lightning Lane sign to see whether a new frame goes up.
