Alice In Wonderland Now Has A Digital Wait Time Sign As Mad Tea Party Adds One Too

Alice in Wonderland attraction in Fantasyland at Disneyland

Alice in Wonderland at Disneyland has traded its old hand-turned wait time sign for a digital one, and Mad Tea Party came back from its refurbishment with a digital wait time sign of its own. The Alice sign shows the same posted wait you see in the Disneyland app, since the two are synced.

A Pocket Watch With A Screen

The new Alice sign keeps the storybook look of the attraction. White Rabbit and Alice sit in the painted crest on top, the Caterpillar curls around the bottom corner, and the wait time now glows inside a round display styled like a pocket watch on a chain.

It stands where a lamppost used to be, and it is larger than the sign it replaced. The back matches the old one, inscription and all, with the Cheshire Cat crest and a passage from the book about the cat vanishing until only its grin remained.

The Teacups Join In

Mad Tea Party reopened Friday, October 16 after a monthlong refurbishment. Disney didn’t say what the work involved, but permits filed with the City of Anaheim listed new lanterns above the turntable, power and data work, and a new electrified post for a prop. The hanging lanterns came back in slightly deeper shades of red, blue and green, and the wait time sign out front is now digital too.

The teacups’ sign has its own Wonderland flourishes. The Mad Hatter and the March Hare sit on top surrounded by teapots and kettles, and the wait time now shows on a screen set inside a giant green version of the Mad Hatter’s top hat, with a “Wait Time” band across the brim.

Both rides sit next to each other in Fantasyland, so it is easy to pair them in one stop. You can find the ride’s details on the Alice in Wonderland attraction page.
