A New Dining Option Is Coming to Downtown Disney
Downtown Disney at the Disneyland Resort is adding another exciting new food concept to its growing roster. Big Boi Lumpia Co., a Los Angeles-based restaurant specializing in Filipino comfort food, has been announced as an upcoming tenant at Downtown Disney District. According to Disneyland News Today, the brand announced on Instagram that the location is coming “very soon” and will take the form of a new cart.
What Is Lumpia?
Lumpia is a Filipino spring roll, typically filled with seasoned meat or vegetables and wrapped in a thin pastry shell before being fried to crispy perfection. It’s been a staple of Filipino cuisine for generations and has been gaining significant mainstream popularity in the Los Angeles food scene in recent years. Big Boi Lumpia Co., founded by Chef Barb Batiste of the B Sweet dessert brand, has built a following in LA for its take on Filipino classics, and its arrival at Downtown Disney represents another step in the district’s evolution toward a more diverse and interesting dining destination. The cart is expected to serve classic savory and sweet flavors with signature dipping sauces.
Downtown Disney’s Dining Renaissance
The announcement comes as Downtown Disney continues one of the most exciting periods of transformation in its history. Just today, Earl of Sandwich opened at its new two-story location beneath Gordon Ramsay’s The Carnaby gastropub. Happy Ice opened a permanent kiosk location earlier this month. And more tenants are on the way.
