Disney has released the full show floor map for D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, and with the event running August 14 through 16 at the Anaheim Convention Center, this is the document worth planning around. It is the largest show floor in the event’s history, spanning Halls A through D plus the Lobby and Mickey Avenue.
Disney has published the full resolution map as a PDF here, which is the version to save to your phone.
Imagineering: Horizons Is The Anchor
The centrepiece is Imagineering: Horizons, which Disney is calling the largest pavilion Walt Disney Imagineering has ever built for a D23 event. It is built around the current global parks expansion, promising a close look at the people and the process behind the projects rather than just finished concept art.
It also connects to Saturday night’s showcase at the Honda Center, Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris. If you are going for parks news specifically, those two things are your weekend.
Bob Weis and Joe Rohde are signing books at the pavilion across all three days, which for a certain kind of attendee is the single best item on this map.
Tom Morrow 2.0 Gets The Hosting Job
Walt Disney Imagineering confirmed via an Instagram reel that Tom Morrow 2.0, the robotic host of the Imagineer That! series, will be hosting the Imagineering pavilion. He is also getting his own merchandise line, which is a fairly unusual promotion for an audio-animatronic.
The Imagineer That! Collection arrives at Mickey’s of Glendale, the Imagineering campus store. It includes a navy T-shirt featuring Tom Morrow 2.0 in his retro-futuristic styling, a purple athletic-style jersey carrying the Imagineer That! logo in moisture-wicking fabric, and a customizable quilted purple Lug bag with interchangeable straps and coin purses finished with a yellow Tom Morrow-inspired logo.
That joins the other Mickey’s of Glendale collections already revealed for the event, including the debut of Disney .YNSD, the Duffy and Friends line, and the Color Block collection. Disney has said one more reveal is still to come.
How The Halls Break Down
- Hall B: Mundo Pixar: The D23 Experience, The Walt Disney Company Store, and the Spotlight Stage presented by Fandango.
- Hall C: Imagineering: Horizons, Lucasfilm, Avatar and Mickey’s of Glendale. Expect this to be the congested one.
- Hall D: The D23 Marketplace, the Ravensburger Store, and Talent Central presented by M&M’S, where artists, Imagineers and filmmakers appear for signings.
Six primary stages are spread across the venue: the Premiere Stage on the North 200 Level, the Walt Disney Archives Stage on the third floor, the Backlot and Hyperion Stages on the second floor, plus Talent Central and the Spotlight Stage.
Everything Else Worth Circling
The Walt Disney Archives is debuting a new exhibition called Walt Disney Archives: Uncrated, built around the warehouses that hold the company’s props, costumes and puppets, and putting items in front of the public that are normally archivist-only.
The Lucasfilm pavilion returns with props, costumes and photo ops, along with fireside chats with filmmaking teams, and D23 attendees will get an early look at LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian during a special screening. Marvel’s TVA Experience is on the floor as well, which we flagged back when the first wave of D23 programming was announced.
On the sponsor side, Chevrolet is marking the 20th anniversary of Cars, Honda is running an Encanto activation, and Hasbro, HEINZ, Ravensburger, Topps and an M&M’S Marvel photo experience fill out the rest.
