ABC has set the Dancing With The Stars Season 35 cast, unveiling 16 celebrities live on Good Morning America on Wednesday, September 2, ahead of a two-night premiere on Tuesday, September 15, and Wednesday, September 16, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, with episodes streaming the next day on Hulu.
The lineup leans on actors with dance credits. Julia Stiles, whose breakout came in 10 Things I Hate About You before Save the Last Dance, is paired with Ezra Sosa. Jenna Dewan, a former backup dancer for Janet Jackson and Missy Elliott who broke out in Step Up and now stars on ABC’s The Rookie, dances with Val Chmerkovskiy. Harry Shum Jr., who played Mike Chang on Glee and appeared in Step Up 2 and Step Up 3D, is with Jenna Johnson. Tatyana Ali, who played Ashley Banks on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air alongside co-host Alfonso Ribeiro, is partnered with Jan Ravnik.
Athletes, A Chef And A Hanson
Amber Glenn, the Olympic gold medalist and three-time U.S. national champion who became the first American woman to land three triple Axels at a single Games, is with Pasha Pashkov. Paralympic gold medalist Ezra Frech dances with Daniella Karagach. Taylor Hanson, lead singer of Hanson, joins with Britt Stewart. Food Network’s Giada De Laurentiis is paired with Alan Bersten.
The reality contingent is deep. Maura Higgins of Love Island and The Traitors dances with Mark Ballas. Summer House star Ciara Miller is with Brandon Armstrong. Tyler Cameron of The Bachelorette is partnered with Sharna Burgess, who returns to the pro roster after several seasons away. Sarah Jane Nader, who stars in the Hulu and Disney+ series Love Thy Nader and whose sister Brooks finished ninth in Season 33, is with Hailey Bills, promoted from the troupe to pro. Conner Leavitt, husband of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Whitney Leavitt, dances with rookie pro Adele Zaikman, winner of this summer’s Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro. Social media personality Connor Wood is with Rylee Arnold.
Rounding out the field are two competitors ABC announced earlier this summer: Jimmy Kimmel Live! sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez, paired with Witney Carson, and Savannah Bananas star Jackson Olson, with Emma Slater.
Same Judges, Same Hosts
Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough return as hosts, with Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli back at the judges’ table. The show is coming off Season 34, whose finale drew 9.24 million viewers across ABC and Disney+, its largest finale audience in nine years, with conservationist Robert Irwin taking the Mirrorball over runner-up Alix Earle and third-place Jordan Chiles.
The 16 couples compete for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy. The full cast breakdown, with each celebrity’s bio and partner, is on Good Morning America.
Dancing With The Stars premieres September 15 and 16 on ABC and Disney+, with new episodes streaming on Hulu the following day.
