Dancing With The Stars Super Bowl Night Posts Its Best Non-Finale Demo Rating In Over Nine Years

Dancing with the Stars ratings are still climbing. The show’s Super Bowl Night episode on ABC scored a 1.56 rating among adults 18 to 49, an 11% jump from the week before and the show’s best non-finale episode in that group since “A Night at the Movies” in May 2017, Deadline reports.

The total audience grew too. The episode drew 6.59 million same-day viewers, up 2% from the previous week, and it led primetime that night across the major broadcast networks.

It is the fourth straight week of growth for the show among adults 18 to 49, and Super Bowl Night now stands as the season high in that group.

A Night Of Halftime Show Songs

Super Bowl Night, which aired Tuesday, October 13, had the remaining couples dancing to songs from past Super Bowl halftime performers. ESPN Monday Night Football’s Joe Buck joined Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli at the judges table for the night.

Viewers were busy at home as well. Fans cast 70 million votes over the course of the broadcast.

A Strong Run For Season 35

The ratings streak builds on a big start for the season. The premiere reached nearly 10 million viewers once a full week of delayed viewing was counted, as we covered when the premiere hit 9.98 million seven-day viewers. The Super Bowl Night audience will also grow once streaming and delayed viewing are added in.

What Comes Next In The Ballroom

The competition turns personal on Tuesday, October 20, with Dedication Night, when the 10 remaining couples perform routines honoring the people and places that shaped their lives. Kym Johnson returns as a special guest judge.

Dedication Night airs from 8 to 10 p.m. Eastern and Pacific, simulcast live on ABC and Disney+, with the episode streaming the next day on Hulu.
