Marvel Studios’ Daredevil: Born Again will end with its third season, which arrives on Disney+ in 2027. The decision comes about two months after Season 3 wrapped filming, and it is the second time a Charlie Cox Daredevil series has come to an end, after Netflix canceled the original in 2018.
Showrunner Dario Scardapane is also leaving. He took over in 2023, when Marvel rebuilt the series during the Hollywood strikes, and he ran all three seasons. His contract was up and was not renewed, so he is exiting with the final season still in post-production, and it is not yet clear who will finish it.
When filming wrapped this summer, Scardapane thanked Marvel and the cast and crew on Instagram and called the season “something very, very, very special.”
Season 3 Starts With Matt Murdock In Prison
The Season 2 finale ended with Matt in prison after he revealed in court that he is Daredevil, while Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) was forced out as mayor of New York City and into exile.
The final season brings the Defenders back together. Krysten Ritter returns as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage and Finn Jones as Danny Rand, the Iron Fist, and the group is expected to go after Fisk once again. Deborah Ann Woll is back as Karen Page and Wilson Bethel as Bullseye, and Élodie Yung also filmed scenes as Elektra.
Marvel Had Called It An Annual Release
Disney+ renewed the show in September 2025, making it the first live-action Marvel Studios series to get a third season. Around the renewal, Brad Winderbaum, head of streaming, television and animation at Marvel Studios, described it as an annual release every March “for as long as people enjoy the show.” Season 3 does not have a premiere date yet.
What It Leaves On Marvel’s TV Slate
Marvel Television has been steadily cutting back on how many shows it makes for Disney+. In July, Disney+ reversed its Season 2 renewal of Wonder Man, and VisionQuest, the Paul Bettany series that closes out the WandaVision trilogy on October 14, is now the only other live-action Marvel show on the calendar.
Marvel has also greenlit a new spy thriller series referred to as Zodiac.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 stars Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, Wilson Bethel, Margarita Levieva, Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, Finn Jones and Élodie Yung. Seasons 1 and 2 are streaming now on Disney+.
