Disneyland’s holiday decorating is about to spread across the resort. Disneyland has filed new holiday permits with the city of Anaheim for garlands and rooftop decorations in Cars Land, a rooftop piece in Adventureland, garlands inside World of Disney, and wreaths and a stained glass display at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. All four filings landed this week and are now in plan review.
Cars Land Gets Garlands And Rooftop Pieces
The most decorations are headed to Cars Land, where Disney plans to hang nine garlands and add two themed elements on rooftops. Like most of the new permits, it runs from November 1, 2026, through January 7, 2027, giving crews a couple of weeks to install everything before the season begins and a day after it ends to take it down.
Cars Land is trading one season for the next. A separate permit for three Halloween signs in Cars Land, which allowed them to stay up through November 6, was closed out this week.
Over at Disneyland park, the Adventureland filing covers a single rooftop themed element. It does not list dates or say which building it will sit on.
World Of Disney And The Grand Californian
In the Downtown Disney District, World of Disney is getting suspended garlands inside the store. Over at the Grand Californian, the permit covers five suspended wreaths and one stained glass themed monument, both on the same November through early January schedule.
None of the permits describe what the rooftop elements or the stained glass monument will look like, so the designs will not be known until they go up.
When The Holidays Start At Disneyland
Holidays at the Disneyland Resort runs November 13, 2026, through January 6, 2027. Disney Festival of Holidays opens at Disney California Adventure on November 13, and Cars Land gets its seasonal ride overlays with Mater’s Jingle Jamboree and Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl. Santa visits Mickey’s Toontown Trolley Barn and the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail from November 13 through December 24.
The Grand Californian also features a 7-foot gingerbread display in the Great Hall lobby, along with Santa appearances at select times. In Downtown Disney, the district adds holiday decor, nightly “snowfall” at the Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage and Chip and Dale’s Ornament Trail.
Disneyland park already has a head start on the season, with Christmas lights up in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle since last week.
