The Disney Halloween Festival opens at Disneyland Paris on September 26 with an entirely new look. Disneyland Paris says a brand-new chapter of the festival begins this year, with a new set design running from Main Street, U.S.A. to the Théâtre du Château built around one idea: the Disney Villains have taken over.
Media got a first look on September 24, and the changes go well beyond the pumpkins and Frontierland overlays we saw going up earlier this week.
Back To The Villains
Set designer Olivier Dusautoir started on this year’s festival right after last season ended. Disneyland Paris says the team went back to the Disney Villains because of how much guests love them, studying the scenes in the animated classics where the villains take control.
Dusautoir says he drew only in black and white, in a darker, more aggressive style full of twisted, shifting shapes. The color scheme comes from those same villain scenes: green, purple, turquoise, grey and black, adapted for Halloween so that purple and orange sometimes blend together.

According to DLP Report, Dusautoir also told media that 2026 is only phase one of the Halloween season’s reinvention, with more changes coming next year.
Main Street Station And The Castle Stage
Tiffany-style stained glass now dresses Main Street Station, along with a large new illuminated medallion. About 40 pumpkins in a new design and more than 130 candles are part of the new décor, around 60 of them on the station roof alone.
Some of the candles are carved to look like Goofy, Donald and other characters. Paper-cut silhouettes of ten Disney Villains, including Dr. Facilier and the Queen of Hearts, hang as medallions on the Main Street lampposts.
At the Théâtre du Château beside Sleeping Beauty Castle, the stage is now a set of haunted ruins that is not tied to any one film. Dark stones glow purple, claw marks hint at a dragon, and Maleficent’s raven Diablo sits on a coat of arms. Guests may spot Maleficent or the Evil Queen there.
Projections Return, Garlands Do Not
The Main Street projection sequences are back after proving popular last year. The Halloween garlands are not returning, and DLP Report says the projections will carry the street instead.

Phantom Manor Haunts Thunder Mesa
In Frontierland, Thunder Mesa has a whole new atmosphere. The spirits of Phantom Manor now take over the plaza, with Halloween lighting redone in purple and green and Phantom Manor music playing throughout.

New Costumes, A New Song And Show Times
Mickey and Minnie and Donald and Daisy have new Halloween outfits this season, Stitch is back in his Halloween costume at the Main Street gazebo, and there is a new Disneyland Paris Halloween song.

Mickey’s Halloween Celebration will play at 3:25 p.m. and 5 p.m. starting September 26.
