The world’s most famous quiz show is teaming up with the worldwide leader in sports. ESPN Jeopardy! now has a premiere date, and fans will not have to wait long, as the sports-focused spinoff arrives on Disney’s streaming platforms later this month.
Premiering July 31
According to the official Jeopardy! website, ESPN Jeopardy! premieres Friday, July 31, streaming on Disney+, Hulu, and the ESPN app. The series is hosted by Emmy Award-winning broadcaster and Monday Night Football announcer Joe Buck, and it brings sports commentators and celebrity sports fans to compete on the Alex Trebek Stage. Billed as Jeopardy! for sports fanatics, the clues will cover the full spectrum of ESPN content.
The competition plays out tournament style. An 18-player field will battle through quarterfinal rounds, followed by three semifinal games and a championship final. Contestants are competing for charity, with the winner earning a $500,000 grand prize for the cause of their choice along with the title of ESPN Jeopardy! champion. The announced field includes recognizable names like Jon Hamm, Keegan-Michael Key, Adam Pally, Hannah Storm, Manti Te’o, and a roster of ESPN talent.
The Jeopardy! Universe Keeps Growing
Produced by Sony Pictures Television and executive produced by Michael Davies, ESPN Jeopardy! is the latest entry in a rapidly expanding franchise now deeply woven into the Disney ecosystem. The flagship syndicated Jeopardy! airs on ABC-owned stations, while primetime Celebrity Jeopardy! runs on ABC and streams the next day on Hulu. This is technically the second sports-themed version of the show, following Sports Jeopardy! which ran from 2014 to 2016.
The launch is a smart use of existing resources for Disney, building out original streaming content on an already-built set with an established production team. It arrives during a busy stretch for Disney’s television side, which recently revealed its stacked 2026 Comic-Con lineup. Sports fans can tune in when ESPN Jeopardy! debuts on July 31.
