Harambe Market Brings Back African-Inspired Flavors With New Menu Additions At Animal Kingdom

The flavors of East Africa are returning to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Harambe Market, the open air quick service marketplace in the park’s Africa section, has expanded its menu with several new African inspired dishes, answering months of fan feedback that the location had lost the globally inspired cuisine that made it special.

What’s New On The Menu

The headliner is the new Tanzanian Meat Pie, featuring African spiced beef and lamb wrapped in naan bread, a handheld entree that recalls the bold regional flavors the market was once known for. Guests looking for something heartier can order the new Harambe Chicken Bowl, which pairs fresh vegetables with warm spices and cooling sauces, while the Savanna Salad combines mixed greens, lentils, carrots, couscous, kachumbari, toasted almonds, and a citrus harissa dressing. A new Coconut Blondie joins the dessert lineup alongside the towering Kubwa Cookie. The full current menu is available on the official Walt Disney World website.

Course Correcting After A Controversial Reopening

Harambe Market closed for refurbishment in October 2025 and reopened earlier this year with a streamlined menu centered on burgers, chicken strips, and wraps. The change did not sit well with longtime fans, who had loved the location’s previous rice bowls, grilled meats, and East African flavors. This expansion blends those crowd pleasing basics with the more adventurous options guests have been asking for, restoring some of the identity that made Harambe Market one of the most distinctive quick service spots at Walt Disney World.

The refreshed menu is the latest in a string of good news out of the park’s Africa section, which recently welcomed Bakari, a new silverback gorilla, to Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail. With Tropical Americas construction continuing and extended evening hours arriving this fall, Animal Kingdom is quietly having one of its busiest years in recent memory.
