Haunted Mansion Holiday turns 25 today at Disneyland. The Nightmare Before Christmas overlay of the New Orleans Square attraction began on October 5, 2001, and Disney is celebrating the 25th season with an anniversary gingerbread house, a commemorative cup and a line of 25th anniversary merchandise.

This year’s overlay returned on August 21, the first day of Halloween Time, and Disneyland’s attraction page links it to both Halloween Time and the resort’s holiday season, which runs through January 6, 2027. Here is a full ride-through of the 2026 version.
A Music Box For The 25th Gingerbread House
The centerpiece of the anniversary is inside the ride. The gingerbread house in the ballroom changes every year, and Disney says the 2026 design celebrates 25 years of showstopping confectionery creations, taking the form of a delightfully monstrous music box.
The music box stands more than 10 feet tall and is decorated with gears and tines. A giant key topped with a “Santa Jack” figure turns as it plays a holiday song, and the roof lifts to reveal a skeleton. LaughingPlace describes that figure as a skeletal ballerina who pops out of the top and spins. Disney also notes guests can spot (and scent) the gingerbread in the ballroom.
The rest of the attraction follows the familiar overlay. Jack Skellington has decked out the house for the holidays, and Disney’s page says Sally, Oogie Boogie and other characters from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas are on hand to wish riders “Season’s Screamings!” Our opening day ride-through of the 2026 Haunted Mansion Holiday shows the full tour.
Anniversary Cup And Merchandise
Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar at the Disneyland Hotel is selling a commemorative Haunted Mansion Holiday cup at its outdoor patio bar. The cup shows Jack Skellington, Sally, Zero and Oogie Boogie surrounded by gingerbread details and snowflakes, and Disney calls it a way to celebrate 25 years of this seasonal switch up. It comes filled with DOLE Whip Pineapple-Orange with guava juice, a DOLE Whip Tropical Float or a version of the float with rum.
Disneyland also released a 25th anniversary merchandise collection when the overlay returned. Mickey Visit found the collection at Port Royal Curios and Curiosities in New Orleans Square, including a T-shirt with illustrations of every year’s gingerbread house on the back, a bomber jacket with “Haunted Mansion Holiday 25th Anniversary” on the sleeve, and a light red Spirit Jersey with the anniversary logo on the front.

How Long It Runs
Haunted Mansion Holiday spans two seasons at Disneyland. Halloween Time ends October 31, and the resort’s holiday season runs November 13, 2026, through January 6, 2027. Disney lists the overlay as open to guests of any height on its attraction page.
