The new downstairs dining area at Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree is packed with Hungry Bear Easter eggs for Country Bears fans, from a tiny front door for Rufus to a honeycomb that came from the original Pooh Corner. We walked the space on October 29, the day the new seating opened at Disneyland, and found nods to the bears tucked into nearly every corner.
Here is our full video tour of the dining area and everything we spotted along the way.

A Front Door For Rufus
The detail most guests will walk right past is built into the rockwork. A small red door sits under the boulders with a mailbox out front that reads “Rufus.” Rufus is the Country Bear Jamboree character who is heard but never seen, working behind the scenes on the show’s scenery and lights, and he now has a home of his own beside the seating area.

Look up from the tables and you will see a honeycomb hanging from the deck above. That piece came from the original Pooh Corner, so a little bit of the land’s Winnie the Pooh history lives on in the new space.

Signs And Theming Around The Seating Area
The new companion restroom carries Country Bears theming too. Its door is labeled “Family Den,” and a framed Five Bear Rugs poster hangs on the wall beside it, so even the restroom feels like part of the show.

Out in the planters, a hand-painted wooden sign has the word “Don’t” crossed out, so it reads “Feed The Bears,” which is a fun thing to read while you are eating barbecue at a restaurant named for a hungry bear.

The water bottle refill station got its own Country Bears sign as well, a round wood plaque showing a bear taking a big swig of H2O. Nearby, a pair of carved beavers holds up the accessibility sign. We are not sure whether the beaver sign is brand new, but it is one of the cutest details in the area.

More Room To Eat
The Easter eggs come with a practical upgrade. The downstairs area adds 84 chairs and 23 tables to the restaurant, which we covered when the new downstairs seating opened. You can check what is being served on the official Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree page.
If you are grabbing lunch there soon, take a few extra minutes to wander the space before you sit down. Most of these details are easy to miss on the way to a table.
