“it’s a small world” at Disneyland Park closes October 30 to be turned into “it’s a small world” Holiday, which returns November 13. That is opening day of Holidays at the Disneyland Resort, which runs through January 6, 2027.
What Changes For The Holidays
The holiday version puts 400,000 lights on the attraction’s facade and a big Santa hat on the clock face. After dark, holiday projections play across the front of the building. Inside, “Jingle Bells” and “Deck the Halls” are woven into the familiar soundtrack, and the dolls and scenes get seasonal costumes, props and decorations throughout the ride.
The two-week closure gives crews time to install the overlay before the season starts. Guests visiting between October 31 and November 12 will find the attraction closed, so anyone hoping to ride the regular version should plan to do it by October 30.
What Else Returns November 13 At Disneyland Park
“it’s a small world” Holiday is one piece of a full slate of returning holiday traditions. A Christmas Fantasy Parade brings Santa Claus and Disney characters down Main Street, U.S.A., and Believe…In Holiday Magic fills the sky above the castle with fireworks, holiday music and a sprinkling of snow. Each evening, Sleeping Beauty Castle also gets its Wintertime Enchantment transformation.
Haunted Mansion Holiday brings back its merry macabre makeover inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their friends also have new holiday outfits this year, and Chip and Dale’s Ornament Trail sends families hunting for ornaments on holiday trees in the Downtown Disney District.
The holiday entertainment is included with regular admission. Guests need a valid theme park ticket or Magic Key pass along with a park reservation, and reservations are limited.
Holidays At Disney California Adventure
Across the esplanade, World of Color Season of Light also returns November 13. In Cars Land, Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters becomes Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl and Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree becomes Mater’s Jingle Jamboree.
Disney Festival of Holidays also returns to the park with food, entertainment and seasonal celebrations from around the world, including Disney ¡Viva Navidad! and its daily entertainment, décor and Disney characters. The Festive Foods Marketplace returns with seasonal food and drinks inspired by holiday traditions from different cultures.
