The LEGO Executor Super Star Destroyer, a 6,130-piece Ultimate Collector Series model of Darth Vader’s flagship, goes on sale at DisneyStore.com on October 4 at 12 a.m. PT, and Disney Store is pairing its launch with a second LEGO Star Wars set, Darth Vader’s Lightsaber, offered as a gift with purchase.
The lightsaber goes to shoppers who spend $130 or more on DisneyStore.com starting October 4, and the qualifying order does not have to include any LEGO product, so items such as the Mickey Mouse and Family Christmas Collection that reached DisneyStore.com on September 14 count toward the total. The offer is limited to one per guest.
The Executor Super Star Destroyer Set
Set 75457 recreates the Executor from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and measures over 53.5 inches long, 20 inches wide and 7.5 inches high. It weighs more than 11 pounds, and LEGO calls it the longest LEGO Star Wars brick-built model to date. It is rated for builders 18 and up and carries a US price of $799.99.
The ship sits on a built-in stand with an information plaque and comes with a smaller, to-scale companion Star Destroyer that carries a tiny Millennium Falcon on a 1×1 tile. A brick-built replica of the Executor’s bridge, the scene where Vader meets the bounty hunters in the film, holds seven minifigures, Darth Vader and six bounty hunters, putting all six hunters together in a single set for the first time. Builders can also follow 3D instructions in the LEGO Builder app.
The hull is built around a LEGO System core with slender LEGO Technic outriggers that anchor the exterior panels. A newly designed decorated tile is used 60 times to recreate the hull lights and central detailing, and the build flips orientation partway through so both the center spine and the underside can be detailed.
On LEGO.com, the set is listed as coming October 4, with LEGO Insiders members getting early access from October 1. LEGO’s own offer on the lightsaber has different terms, making it free only with a purchase of the Executor itself from October 1 through October 7 while stocks last.
Darth Vader’s Lightsaber Gift With Purchase
Set 40897 is a brick-built replica of the lightsaber that Vader used to battle Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker. It contains 174 pieces, measures over 9 inches long, 3 inches wide and 2.5 inches deep, and includes a display stand with a nameplate. LEGO sells the set on its own for $29.99.
