FX Orders Live-Action Far Cry Series
FX has ordered a live-action anthology series based on Ubisoft’s Far Cry video game franchise, and it is coming together with a seriously impressive cast. Lizzy Caplan and Rob McElhenney are both set to star in the debut season, with the series co-created by Noah Hawley and Rob Mac.
Deadline confirmed the casting news on June 25, 2026, with Caplan joining McElhenney in what is shaping up to be one of the more ambitious video game adaptations currently in development at a major network.

Noah Hawley brings serious prestige television credentials to the project. Rob McElhenney, best known for co-creating and starring in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, has been building a broader entertainment presence in recent years, most notably through his ownership of Wrexham AFC and the accompanying Welcome to Wrexham documentary series on FX.
Lizzy Caplan is an Emmy nominee with a strong track record in prestige drama, having starred in Halt and Catch Fire, Masters of Sex, and Fleishman Is in Trouble. Her addition to the Far Cry cast signals that FX is investing in top-tier talent for this adaptation.
