Professional pickleball takes over Walt Disney World this weekend. Major League Pickleball’s 2026 regular season finale runs Thursday, July 30 through Sunday, August 2 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, the ninth and final stop before the league’s playoffs and the first time MLP has closed out a regular season at Disney.
Four Days Of Playoff Positioning
Every match is being played indoors at the State Farm Field House, which spares both players and spectators a Central Florida August afternoon. The event carries real stakes: this is the last chance for teams to bank standings points before the 2026 MLP Playoffs, so the field arrives with something to settle rather than a season already decided.
The host is the Orlando Squeeze, playing the closest thing MLP has to a home game. Tickets cover all four match courts along with courtside seating, first-come bleacher access on Championship Court, concessions and the surrounding festival setup, with single-day and four-day passes available through Major League Pickleball’s event page.
Goofy Brought Pickles
Disney marked the occasion the way Disney does. Minnie Mouse and Goofy turned up at the complex for the league’s media day ahead of the opening matches, Minnie in pickleball apparel and Goofy carrying an armful of actual pickles.
Another Sport For A Complex That Collects Them
ESPN Wide World of Sports has hosted roughly 70 different sports since opening as Disney’s Wide World of Sports in March 1997, across a footprint of more than 200 acres that includes a 9,500-seat stadium, an indoor arena, two field houses and 17 multi-purpose outdoor fields. It has absorbed everything from Atlanta Braves spring training to the 2020 NBA bubble.
Pickleball is a natural addition to that list given how quickly the sport has grown, and hosting a regular season finale rather than a mid-season stop signals Disney wants the relationship to continue. The complex has been busy landing marquee one-offs lately, including the night the Savannah Bananas played their first ever game at Walt Disney World.
