Marvel’s most popular preschool series is back with a brand-new season, and it’s bringing some major reinforcements. Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends Season 5 premieres on Monday, July 13, on Disney Junior at 7:00 a.m. EDT/PDT, with five episodes dropping on Disney+ the following day on July 14. As Animation World Network reported, the season is packed with new Marvel guest stars.
New Heroes Join the Team
Season 5 introduces a new “Rescue-Webs” story arc, centering on Team Spidey tackling more daring rescues with a brand-new Spidey-themed firetruck and rescue gear. Joining Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and Gwen Stacy this season are Rocket (voiced by Trevor Devall), Groot (voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson), Mr. Fantastic (voiced by Mario Lopez), and Silk (voiced by Avelyn Choi). Rocket and Groot will make multiple appearances throughout the season, while Mr. Fantastic brings the Fantastic Four’s signature stretchy smarts to help Team Spidey handle the toughest situations.
Meet Symbie
The season also introduces a new villain: Symbie, an adorably mischievous symbiote who causes trouble for Team Spidey. Symbie made his official series debut in the “Meet Symbie” short released on Disney Junior’s YouTube channel on May 1, ahead of the new Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends #1 CGD 2026 comic book. Ten new “Meet Spidey and His Amazing Friends” shorts, including Symbie’s debut, are now available on Disney Channel and Disney Junior, with all ten premiering on Disney+ on June 9.
A Record-Breaking Run
Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends has become one of Disney Junior’s biggest hits ever. The series crossed 1 billion hours streamed on Disney+ globally in 2025 and ranked as the number two most-watched streaming series for kids and boys ages 2 to 5, trailing only Bluey. On the toy side, it was the third-best-selling preschool toy license globally in 2025 per Circana, with a new Rescue-Webs toy lineup, including a Symbie Factory Playset from Hasbro, coming to major retailers later this summer. The show’s theme song is written and performed by Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy, a lifelong Marvel fan who drew on themes from previous Spider-Man media as inspiration.
