Stitch and Angel are still inseparable on the set of Lilo & Stitch 2. A new video from the shoot in Hawaii shows the two experiments standing side by side on a sidewalk while the crew works around them, more than a week after the pair first turned up together in Waikiki.
Reel News Hawaii, which follows film and TV productions around Hawaii, posted the 9-second clip Thursday evening with a credit to Nancy L. and a caption joking that the two are “sneaking off on Shave Ice dates.”
I don’t care what Lilo says, these two are sneaking off on Shave Ice dates.

What The Video Shows
The video was filmed from across a lawn, looking past a stone pillar toward a white building with a covered walkway. Angel, in bright pink, and Stitch, in his familiar blue, stand next to each other on the sidewalk in front of the building. A crew member dressed in black leans over the pair, and the sidewalk behind them is packed with camera equipment and members of the production.
As the camera pans, a lime green traffic cone comes into view on the grass in the foreground. By the end of the clip, only Angel is left in the shot.
The characters seen on set are reference models, not the finished characters. Stitch and Angel will both be created with visual effects for the film, and the models give the cast and crew something to work with during filming.
Angel’s First Live-Action Role
Disney first teased Angel at D23 in August, when the sequel’s title card showed her antennae and Maia Kealoha, who plays Lilo, joked on stage that there were now two of them. Also known as Experiment 624, Angel first appeared in Lilo & Stitch: The Series as Stitch’s love interest. Lilo & Stitch 2 is her first time in live action.
The two were first spotted together on October 19, when Lilo & Stitch 2 filmed at Hilton Hawaiian Village and photos showed Stitch in a bucket hat sitting next to Angel on a blue cooler. We rounded up those photos when Lilo & Stitch 2 first filmed in Waikiki. The next day, Stitch was back at the hotel hauling a luggage cart under the front entrance.
When Lilo & Stitch 2 Opens
Chris Sanders, who co-created the original animated film and has voiced Stitch since 2002, is writing and directing the sequel. Kealoha returns as Lilo, along with Sydney Agudong as Nani. The first live-action film earned more than $1 billion worldwide.
Lilo & Stitch 2 opens in theaters on May 26, 2028, the start of Memorial Day weekend. The sequel tells a brand new story, and Disney has not shared plot details yet.
