Hulu’s hit mystery-comedy Only Murders in the Building is heading to London for Season 6, and it is bringing what may be the most star-studded guest cast in the show’s history. A massive wave of British and Irish talent has been confirmed for the new season, with David Tennant and Nicola Coughlan leading the latest round of additions.
The New Cast Members
According to Variety, the newest batch of recurring guest stars joining Season 6 includes David Tennant (Doctor Who, Rivals), Nicola Coughlan (Bridgerton, Derry Girls), Jodie Whittaker (Doctor Who, Broadchurch), Jim Broadbent (Moulin Rouge!, Bridget Jones’s Diary), Richard Ayoade (The IT Crowd), Adrian Lukis (The Crown), and Kathryn Hunter (Poor Things). Exact character details for all new additions are being kept under wraps, as is tradition for the show.
They join a previously announced wave of recurring guest stars that already includes Martin Freeman, Geri Halliwell-Horner, Jamie Demetriou, Anjana Vasan, Jane Horrocks, Derek Jacobi, Lesley Nicol, Jennifer Saunders, Sean Teale, Simone Ashley, Amar Chadha-Patel, Rhea Norwood, Matthew Beard, and Sharon Horgan. Returning star Michael Cyril Creighton is also confirmed back, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph has been spotted on set in London though her return has not yet been officially confirmed.
The London Setting
Season 6 picks up where the Season 5 finale left off, with Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) crossing the Atlantic to investigate the death of rival podcaster Cinda Canning, played by Tina Fey. Production officially began in London in May 2026, with the show’s official social media account sharing behind-the-scenes photos of the cast on location around the city.
The move to the U.K. has clearly inspired the casting direction, with two former Doctor Who leads, multiple Bridgerton stars, and a who’s who of beloved British television talent all coming aboard for what is shaping up to be one of the show’s most ambitious seasons yet.
When Does It Premiere?
Hulu has not yet announced an official premiere date for Season 6. Based on the show’s historical pattern, a fall 2026 debut is widely expected. Only Murders in the Building is produced by 20th Television, a Disney subsidiary, and streams exclusively on Hulu.
