Project Fedora finally has something standing on it. Aerial photos taken around October 9 show what appears to be a steel pipe framework rising beside the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the first vertical structure at the site since work began in March.
Disney still has not said what Project Fedora is. There is no official name, purpose, opening date or concept art. WDWMagic reports that its sources say the addition is aimed at younger guests and may be an Indiana Jones-themed play structure, but Disney has not confirmed that, and the new frame is simply the clearest sign yet of something being built there.

What The New Frame Looks Like
The structure appears to be made of steel pipe, with vertical posts tied together by angled and horizontal pieces. The posts sit on square concrete pads, including the anchored pad with a steel plate and bolts that showed up earlier this month when concrete and rebar first went into the ground.
Stacks of lumber, timber formwork and survey flags surround the frame, and much of the work is happening overnight. From the walkway, guests will not see much of it yet, because the rolling planter wall that has screened the plot since March is still in place.
Where The Site Is
Project Fedora is the nickname for a small fenced-off area between the exit of the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and Backlot Express, close to the Backlot Express silo tower. It used to be a merchandise location. The stunt show, which recreates scenes from Raiders of the Lost Ark, sits right next door.
What The Permits Show
Disney filed two construction notices for the site on May 15. One lists Slalom Construction Services as the contractor and the other lists Artistic Entertainment Services, a company that installed set pieces for Donald’s Dino-Bash and Woody’s Lunch Box. That track record suggests themed elements, though Disney has not confirmed anything.
The filings describe a small footprint of roughly 202 square feet. Walt Disney Imagineering also filed a separate permit on June 10 for signage near the stunt show, though it is not clear whether the two are connected.
On October 14, a new construction notice was recorded for the Indiana Jones theater itself, naming Coastal Steel Inc. as the contractor. It is not clear whether that work is connected to Project Fedora next door.
How We Got Here
Work started on March 17, when the overhead netting came down and the rolling planters went up. The construction notices followed in May, and in July a large tree near Backlot Express was removed, leaving a cleared plot marked with stakes and flags. Concrete, rebar and formwork arrived earlier this month, and now the steel is up.
