Scrubs Season 2 is adding four new faces to Sacred Heart, and one of them is family. Kellan Tetlow, whose credits include This Is Us, will guest star as Ollie, the son of J.D. and Elliot.

Joining him are Ed Quinn and Stephanie Koenig in recurring roles and Punkie Johnson as a guest star. The new arrivals give the hospital a new boss in the ER, a new administrator in the front office and a patient in a very tough spot.

Who Is Joining Sacred Heart

Quinn, whose credits include The Oval, plays Dr. Jax, the overly confident and charming head of the ER. He is a classic adrenaline junkie with a bro-y streak, which makes for a big personality at the top of the ER.

Koenig, from Lessons in Chemistry, plays Cassie, the hospital’s new administrator. Like Quinn, she is a recurring character, so she will be part of more than one episode this season.

Johnson, a former Saturday Night Live cast member whose credits also include The Chi, guest stars as Dee, a patient who is a tough prisoner facing an even tougher dilemma. Tetlow rounds out the group as Ollie, giving fans a look at the next generation of the J.D. and Elliot story.

Where Season 2 Picks Up

In the second season of the half-hour revival, J.D. (Zach Braff), Turk (Donald Faison) and Elliot (Sarah Chalke) are no longer the interns from the original run. They are now the respected veterans of Sacred Heart, inspiring a new class of doctors while juggling the ups and downs of hospital life alongside characters both new and familiar. Showrunner Aseem Batra has said the season features fewer interns in each episode, with Tosh (Ava Bunn) as the one intern in every episode.

ABC kicked off the season with a two-episode premiere on September 30. The season has already shaken things up with the returns of Scott Foley as Sean and Rachel Bilson as Charlie, which the stars say changes J.D. and Elliot’s relationship and has an impact on Turk’s marriage too. Deadline’s casting report did not say which episodes the four new cast members will appear in.

Who Makes The Show

Bill Lawrence, who created the original series, executive produces through Doozer Productions with Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer. Braff, Faison and Chalke also serve as executive producers, along with Mike Royce, Mathew Harawitz, Randall Keenan Winston and Michael Spiller.

Aseem Batra is the showrunner and an executive producer. Scrubs is produced by 20th Television, part of Disney Television Studios, and new episodes air on ABC.
