The Magic Of Disney Animation Opens September 14 At Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The wait finally has an end date. Walt Disney World has announced that The Magic of Disney Animation will officially open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on September 14, 2026, and Disney has revealed the full lineup of experiences waiting inside. The new collection celebrates the art and history of Disney animation with hands-on activities, character meets, and theatrical moments spread across the space.

Everything Coming To The Magic Of Disney Animation

The experience is built as a walkthrough celebration of Disney Animation, letting guests explore different studio departments modeled on Disney Animation headquarters. The centerpiece for aspiring artists is Olaf Draws!, a learn-to-draw experience featuring an all-new Olaf Audio-Animatronics figure, where guests can pick up the basics of sketching Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Genie, Moana, Stitch, Olaf, Ursula, Judy Hopps, and Nick Wilde. Off the Page! turns the art of animation into a character celebration, with meet-and-greets that include Mulan, Rapunzel, Chip n’ Dale, Donald and Daisy, Goofy, and Stitch stepping right off the drawing board.

The lineup continues with the Once Upon A Studio Theater, screening the short film Once Upon A Studio with a special twist and enhanced effects, and an enchanted art gallery where portraits come to life through all-new animations, echoing the magic of that same short. Rounding things out is Drawn to Wonderland, an indoor playground inspired by Disney Legend Mary Blair’s iconic concept art for Alice in Wonderland, giving younger guests a colorful space of their own.

A Celebration Of Disney Animation History

Rather than a single ride, The Magic of Disney Animation is a collection of experiences designed to immerse guests in the creative process behind Disney’s most beloved films. Disney had been building anticipation for the project gradually, first sharing a map that revealed the scope and multi-space layout of the experience before this full reveal. The result blends gallery-style artistry, interactive activities, character encounters, and theatrical presentation into one destination on the Hollywood Studios lineup.

The addition arrives during a period of major growth for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, which is also preparing to welcome the Monsters Inc.-themed land.
