Christina Najjar, the podcaster and content creator better known as Tinx, is the new host of Hulu’s The Circle reboot. She will lead the reimagined reality competition when it premieres November 17, Deadline reports.
The Circle will roll out three new episodes a week, Tuesday through Thursday, for five weeks. The season finale lands on Friday, December 18.
Celebrities And Audience Voting
The format is changing on its way to Hulu. This version mixes everyday players with celebrity contestants, all competing side by side in the same popularity contest. It also adds audience voting for the first time in the U.S., so viewers will have a say in how the game plays out. Hulu has not yet explained how the voting will work or how often fans will be able to weigh in. The series is produced on a fast turnaround, so twists and rankings unfold as the season airs.
The basic game stays the same. Players move into separate apartments in the same building and never meet in person. They talk only through a social media platform called The Circle, rate one another, and try to become the most popular player. Some play as themselves, while others play as catfish, using someone else’s photos and persona. Studio Lambert created the format for Channel 4 in the U.K. in 2018, and the American version premiered on Netflix in January 2020.
A New Home And A New Host
The Circle spent seven seasons on Netflix with comedian Michelle Buteau as host. Buteau is not part of the reboot, as we reported when Hulu first announced it. Tinx now steps into that spot.
Who Is Behind It
Studio Lambert produces the new season with Motion Entertainment and Omaha Productions, the company founded by Peyton Manning, who is one of the executive producers. Susan House is the showrunner, and All3Media International handles international sales of the format.
Hulu has not named the celebrity players or the full cast yet.
