Woody, Jessie and Buzz Lightyear are back in their classic costumes at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The limited-time Toy Story 5 accessories the trio picked up for the film’s release have been retired, so the poncho, the badge and the sticker are gone and the familiar Toy Story Land looks have returned.
What Changed On Each Character
The Toy Story 5 versions were small touches tied to the movie. Woody wore a red bandana poncho, Jessie pinned on the sheriff badge Woody handed her at the end of Toy Story 4, and Buzz had a star sticker stuck to his chest panel. We covered the new accessories when Woody and Jessie first showed off their Toy Story 5 looks at Walt Disney World.
Now Woody has lost the poncho, which puts his yellow plaid shirt and cow-print vest back in full view, along with his sheriff badge, belt buckle and holster. Jessie’s vest no longer carries the badge, leaving her red hat, yellow collar and cuffs, and cow-print chaps as the standouts. Buzz is back to his white, green and purple suit with nothing added to the chest panel, just the Space Ranger logo, the yellow Lightyear label and his row of blue, green and red buttons. All three were greeting guests with waves, and Woody was tipping his hat as he walked. BlogMickey photographed all three in the classic outfits on a recent visit.
Where To Meet Them In Toy Story Land
Nothing has changed about where to find them. Woody and Jessie still meet together near Toy Story Mania! Buzz greets guests on his own, closer to the entrance of Toy Story Land. Both meet-and-greets run on the park’s daily entertainment schedule, so check the My Disney Experience app for times on the day of your visit.
If you were hoping for a photo with the movie versions, that chance has passed. Anyone who met the trio over the summer and comes back now will find them in their everyday outfits again, with nothing from the new movie left on them.
What About Holiday Costumes?
Holiday outfits could be the next change. Woody, Jessie and Buzz have worn festive holiday costumes at Hollywood Studios in past seasons, a tradition that started in 2018, the first year Toy Story Land was decorated for the holidays. Disney has not said when this year’s holiday looks will appear or which other characters around the park will dress up for the season.
Toy Story 5 opened in theaters on June 19, and with the accessories gone, the film’s tie-in at the character meets has wrapped up for now.
