New aerial photos of Tropical Americas show the Casita at Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto as an open steel cage, with rockwork starting to wrap the Encanto show building behind it at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Photographer bioreconstruct posted the photos Sunday night.

Still A Steel Cage
The Casita frame is galvanized steel on a concrete base, with no decking or sheathing yet, so the camera looks straight through it. In Drew Smith’s ground-level photos from Friday, the same frame was already standing above the construction walls.
The same photos show construction on a gentle hill in front of the ride.
Rockwork On The Show Building
On the roof of the Encanto show building, a large rounded mound is wrapped in scaffolding and mesh. It is still gray, not sculpted or painted, so this is theming in progress rather than finished rock. Blog Mickey, writing about the same photos, says the rockwork will hide the show buildings from guests and add scale that should make the Casita feel larger than it is.
New Frames At The Entrance And Exit
The photos also show roof frame extensions added recently at the ride’s entrance and exit, and a structural frame for theming going up along the side of the show building near the exit.

Two Weeks Of Progress
When the Casita’s steel frame first appeared in aerials earlier this month, it was a house-shaped outline at the front of the show building. The frame is now fully formed, and the work has moved on to the rockwork and the theming frames around it.
Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto is one of two headline attractions in Tropical Americas, which is replacing DinoLand U.S.A. The land is set to open in 2027.
