The Princess Diaries is heading to the concert stage for its 25th anniversary. Overture Global Entertainment and presenting partner GEA Live, working with Disney Concerts, have announced the world premiere of The Princess Diaries In Concert at the Eventim Apollo in London on Friday, November 27, 2026.
Tickets went on general sale today, September 25, through the official Princess Diaries In Concert website.
How The Show Works
The concert screens the full film on the big screen while John Debney’s score is performed live, in sync with the movie, by The Sinfonietta, an all-women orchestra. It is the first time the film has been presented this way, and the event is billed as a special celebration of the movie’s 25th anniversary.
Macy Schmidt conducts the London premiere. She is also the show’s creative producer and the CEO of Overture Global Entertainment, which created and produced the concert in partnership with Disney Concerts.
Schmidt said there is so much joy and nostalgia surrounding the film, and that she is proud to have The Sinfonietta help bring it to the concert stage for the first time. She thanked GEA Live for crafting a production that makes the orchestra part of the story.
Tours Planned For 2027
London is only the start. The November 27 performance comes ahead of tours planned for North America and for the UK and Europe in 2027. Dates and cities for those tours have not been announced, but the concert’s website says more dates are coming soon.
25 Years Of Genovia
Released in 2001, The Princess Diaries follows Mia Thermopolis, an awkward San Francisco teenager whose ordinary life is turned upside down when she learns she is heir to the throne of the European kingdom of Genovia. The late Garry Marshall directed the film, based on the novel by Meg Cabot, and it became Anne Hathaway’s breakout role alongside Julie Andrews. A sequel, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, followed in 2004.
A third film is in the works, and Hathaway has said the story had a breakthrough after the team started over. Production has not yet begun.
