Disney fans can now experience a brand-new musical atmosphere at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets prepares for its grand opening. The attraction’s courtyard area has debuted an all-new background music loop featuring 34 carefully curated tracks, setting the stage for one of summer 2026’s most anticipated theme park transformations.
A Two-Hour Musical Journey
The new courtyard music loop represents a thoughtful blend of classic rock hits spanning from the late 1970s through contemporary releases, all anchored by original tracks from Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem. BlogMickey documented the complete playlist after spending more than two hours in the courtyard to capture every song in the rotation. The playlist includes Electric Mayhem originals woven throughout the mix, designed to reflect the energy and personality of the beloved Muppets rock band that now takes center stage at the reimagined attraction.
From Aerosmith to Animal: A Major Transformation
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster officially opens to the general public on May 26, 2026, marking the end of the attraction’s nearly 27-year association with Aerosmith. The legendary ride has been completely reimagined to feature The Muppets, with The Electric Mayhem band leading guests on a high-speed journey through Hollywood to make it to their concert on time. This transformation came as part of a larger Hollywood Studios restructuring that saw the closure of MuppetVision 3D in June 2025 to make way for a new Monsters, Inc. area.
What Fans Can Expect
The updated courtyard music loop plays throughout the outdoor queue and surrounding area, immersing guests in the rock-and-roll atmosphere before they even enter G-Force Records. Inside the attraction, visitors will encounter the first-ever Scooter Audio-Animatronic figure created using motion-capture technology, penguin audio engineers paying homage to MuppetVision 3D, and a storyline that mirrors the original Aerosmith version but with full Muppet flair. The iconic 40-foot guitar outside the attraction has received a psychedelic Electric Mayhem-inspired makeover complete with a golden piano key at the base nodding to Dr. Teeth.
For Muppets fans still mourning the loss of MuppetVision 3D, the new attraction serves as both a consolation and a celebration, with numerous Easter eggs and tributes scattered throughout the experience. Annual Passholder previews took place May 21-23, with the attraction opening to all guests on May 26, marking a new chapter for both Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and The Muppets’ presence at Walt Disney World.
