“Try Our Cans” is now painted on a building in Monstropolis. The new sign went up on a brick facade near the entrance to the Monsters, Inc. land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, one of several theming details that have appeared as construction moves along.
Drew Smith, who shared the photos, says the slogan is likely a nod to the laugh canisters from Monsters, Inc., which collect the laughter that now powers the monster city.

• Crews have painted “Try Our Cans” on the facade near the land’s entrance, likely a reference to Laugh Canisters.
• The monster-themed transformation of the same building is nearing completion, with scaffolding expected to be removed soon.
• Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza facade work continues, with spikes visible.
• The buildings next to Harryhausen’s are taking shape as work on the themed architecture progresses.
Painted Right On The Brick
The lettering is painted in large yellow letters directly on the red brick. Scaffolding still runs across the facade, with crews working around the sign.
That same building is close to finishing its monster makeover, and Drew expects its scaffolding to come down soon. Earlier this month, we looked at the faux brick going up around Monstropolis.
Spikes At Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza
Facade work continues at Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza, where spikes are now visible. The same photo shows a large piece on the roofline, still wrapped in tan covering.
Archie’s is named for the six-legged Fear Tech mascot from Monsters University, and Disney has described it as the land’s go-to spot for pizza. The buildings next to Harryhausen’s, a table-service restaurant that will feature an Audio-Animatronics sushi chef, are also taking shape as the themed architecture goes up.
When Monstropolis Opens
Disney has said parts of Monstropolis will open to guests in 2027, while work continues on the land’s Monsters, Inc. door coaster. Randy Newman wrote a new song for the land, “Welcome to Monstropolis,” his first for a Disney theme park.
Disney has not announced an exact opening date. For now, the changes are showing up one facade at a time from behind the construction walls at Hollywood Studios.
