Finn and Jake are heading back to the Land of Ooo. Disney+ and Hulu have released the official trailer for Adventure Time: Side Quests Season 2, and every episode of the new season arrives October 2 on both services in the U.S.
The full-season drop comes a little more than three months after Season 1 premiered on June 29. The series is set between the first two seasons of the original show and follows a 12-year-old Finn on adventures across Ooo with his magical dog and best friend, Jake.
What Season 2 Brings
Side Quests is built around standalone adventures, and Season 2 keeps that format. Finn and Jake take on detours that quickly grow into something bigger, including wrestling toads, facing baby gladiators and getting tangled up in magical spells as they explore more of Ooo. The adventures range from seemingly small detours to much larger challenges, and several familiar faces from across the Adventure Time universe turn up along the way.
The friendship between Finn and Jake stays at the center, with the pair jumping into action even as each situation becomes harder to predict. The trailer previews several of the new misadventures along with the colorful look fans know from the original series.
The Voice Cast
Sasha Knight voices Finn the Human, and John DiMaggio returns as Jake the Dog. Tom Kenny is back as the Ice King, with Hynden Walch as Princess Bubblegum, Olivia Olson as Marceline and Niki Yang as BMO.
DiMaggio, Kenny, Walch, Olson and Yang all voiced the same characters in the original Adventure Time, which ran on Cartoon Network for ten seasons from 2010 to 2018. Finn is the one role with a new voice. Jeremy Shada played him in the original series, and showrunner Nate Cash cast a younger actor to reset Finn to being 12 years old with a kid voice.
Who Makes The Show
Adventure Time: Side Quests is produced by Cartoon Network Studios. Nate Cash is executive producer and showrunner, and Victor Courtright is supervising director. Niki Yang, Katie Aldworth and Rose Feduk direct episodes, with Darrick Bachman as story editor, Nick Cross as art director and Matthew Janszen composing the music.
Viewers can binge the whole season when it arrives October 2. Season 1 is streaming now on Disney+ and Hulu for anyone who wants to catch up first.
