The hive is getting bigger. Filming is officially underway on the second season of FX’s acclaimed sci-fi horror series Alien: Earth, and the show has added three notable new faces to its ensemble as cameras roll.
Three New Cast Members Board The Series
According to Variety, seven-time Emmy winner Tracey Ullman, Sam Spruell, and Jerome Flynn have all joined the FX original for its sophomore run. They step into the corporate nightmare alongside the previously announced Peter Dinklage and returning lead Sydney Chandler. Character details are being kept firmly under wraps, but the additions bring a mix of dramatic and genre-friendly experience to showrunner Noah Hawley’s dark world.
The casting sets up some fun reunions. Spruell previously worked with Hawley on the fifth season of FX’s Fargo, while Flynn’s arrival, combined with Dinklage, creates an unofficial Game of Thrones reunion. Flynn played the mercenary Bronn opposite Dinklage’s Tyrion Lannister on the HBO megahit, and their onscreen chemistry was a highlight of that series.
A New Home At Pinewood
Production on season 2 is now taking place at Pinewood Studios in London, a shift from the first season’s Thailand shoot. Hawley has called London a better long-term home for the series, and Pinewood carries fitting pedigree as the studio where Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, and Prometheus were primarily filmed. FX also released a first-look behind-the-scenes image featuring Wendy and Hermit to mark the start of filming.
Season 1 ended with Wendy and the Lost Boy hybrids seizing control of Prodigy’s facility and imprisoning its leaders, a victory Hawley has warned may be short-lived as Weyland-Yutani forces close in. The series streams on Hulu and Disney+, and while no premiere date is set, the season is expected to wrap later this year with a likely late 2027 return. It is another high-profile title in Disney’s deep television slate, which recently unveiled its 2026 Comic-Con lineup.
