Garlic Naan Joins The Menu At Bengal Barbecue As The Stand’s Cheapest Bite

Bengal Barbecue is now serving garlic naan, and at $5.79 it is the cheapest food item at the Adventureland skewer stand. The grilled flatbread, basted with herb butter, appeared on Disneyland’s official menu on Friday, August 28 with no announcement from Disney, and TheDisneyScoop.com picked one up at the stand on Saturday to confirm it is already on the grill.

The Cheapest Bite At The Stand

Garlic Naan is listed in the Jungle Skewers section of the menu at $5.79, described simply as grilled bread basted with herb butter. That undercuts everything else you can eat at the stand. The four skewers run from $6.99 for the Chicken Teriyaki Skewer to $7.99 for the Banyan Beef and Bengal Beef Skewers, with the Pork and Vegetable Skewer at $7.29. The plant based Bulgogi Bean Salad sits at $6.49, and the Bengal Rice Plate, which bundles two skewers with jasmine rice and pineapple slaw, tops the menu at $19.99. The naan is the obvious pairing play, a base to drag through whatever sauce is left when the skewer is gone.

How It Eats

We tried it Sunday and the naan is light and fluffy, with garlic that stays in the background rather than taking over the bread. The herb butter is the highlight and does exactly what it should. The better move, though, is turning it into a wrap. We slid a Banyan Beef Skewer into the fold, and the hot and spicy beef made a good handheld, though the Banyan sauce keeps its kick, so it is not the pick for anyone avoiding heat. Any of the skewers would work tucked inside the naan, and the Chicken Teriyaki or the Bengal Beef in sweet Zulu Sauce would build a milder version of the same wrap. Just remember to pull the stick out before you fold it up.

Bread Is Back In Adventureland

The addition also returns a bread option to a stand that lost one. The Tiger Tail Breadstick, the tiger striped garlic and herb breadstick baked with sharp cheddar that spent years as Bengal Barbecue’s budget bite, hasn’t been on the menu in a while.

Disney lists the naan on the stand’s standard Snack menu rather than a seasonal one, which points to a permanent addition instead of a Halloween Time item. Bengal Barbecue sits in Adventureland across from the Jungle Cruise and takes mobile orders through the Disneyland app, and the full current lineup is on the official Bengal Barbecue menu page. The new naan lands with Halloween Time menus already in place across the resort, and you can find every seasonal item and price in our full Halloween food price rundown.
