Coral Reef Restaurant looks like it is coming back more than five weeks early. The EPCOT restaurant’s reservation calendar now shows a September 29 reopening, replacing the November 4 date that Disney’s booking system carried earlier this month.
Coral Reef closed on September 8 for planned maintenance. When the closure was first announced, Disney gave no return date, and the November 4 date only surfaced when reservations opened for the restaurant earlier in September.
Disney Has Not Confirmed The New Date
The September 29 date comes from the restaurant’s booking calendar, not from an announcement. Disney’s own dining page still carries the same language it has had since June: the restaurant is temporarily closed for planned maintenance beginning September 8, 2026, and is expected to reopen later in 2026.
Blog Mickey first spotted the change on Sunday. Disney has not said why the timeline moved up, or what work was finished ahead of schedule.
Dinner Only, Still
The dinner-only schedule continues when Coral Reef returns. The restaurant quietly dropped lunch service in January, leaving it open from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., and the reopening does not bring lunch back.
Coral Reef sits inside The Seas with Nemo and Friends pavilion at EPCOT, where panoramic windows look into the 5.7-million-gallon aquarium and the roughly 2,000 sea creatures living in it. Sharks, rays and sea turtles swim past the tables while guests eat.
Guests holding reservations from November should watch their bookings. Until Disney posts the change itself, the calendar is the only source for the new date.
