Death Stranding Isolations Teaser Trailer Arrives Ahead Of Its 2027 Disney+ Debut

Death Stranding Isolations finally has footage. Kojima Productions released the first teaser trailer and a new key visual for the animated series on Thursday, along with the team behind it, and confirmed the show is coming exclusively to Disney+ and other Disney services in 2027.

The key visual carries a blunt tagline: “My mom became a crater.” Kojima Productions describes the show as an all-new series set in the world of Death Stranding, with an original story driven by its own ensemble of characters.

A New Story In The Death Stranding World

Isolations is not a retelling of the games. It is set in North America right after Sam, the porter Norman Reedus plays in the games, reconnects the continent through the Chiral Network, and those new connections bring consequences nobody saw coming.

The series follows a young man and a young woman on a journey. The new details released with the teaser, laid out in full by Gematsu, also introduce a wise old man who connects people, a female soldier caught in a war, an angry boy and a girl who has shut herself off from the outside world until chance encounters pull her into one she does not know.

Who Is Making Death Stranding Isolations

Takayuki Sano directs for the Japanese studio E&H production, which is animating the series in traditional hand-drawn 2D. Novelist and screenwriter Tow Ubukata handles series composition and the screenplay, Ilya Kuvshinov is the original character designer, and Hideo Kojima is executive producer, with Kojima Productions producing.

Sano said Kojima’s games have always raised something in the spirit of the people who play them, and that he took on the series with a strong sense of duty to have the same effect.

Kojima Productions first announced the series in 2025. The world it builds on spans two games so far, Death Stranding in 2019 and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach in 2025. No voice cast, episode count or exact premiere date has been announced yet.

Another Anime Series For Disney+

Isolations adds to the Japanese animation already on Disney+, which has also been home to Star Wars anime projects like Star Wars: Visions Presents The Ninth Jedi. The new key art carries both the Disney+ and Hulu logos alongside its 2027 date.
