Dropping October 20th are five Disney Boo Buckets that all come with sticker sheets featuring Disney characters and McDonald’s themed items.
They’ve got Ursula, Maleficent, Scar, Jafar, and Cruella De Vil.
The lineup is Ursula from The Little Mermaid, Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, Scar from The Lion King, Jafar from Aladdin and Cruella De Vil from 101 Dalmatians. McDonald’s has not announced this year’s Boo Buckets yet, so the date and the designs could still change. The set has some backing beyond one account, though: a McDonald’s manager posted a photo of the buckets to a collectors’ Facebook group, and a franchisee account on X that says it does not speak for the company backed it up. Snackolator is still the only source for the October 20 date.
What The Five Villains Buckets Look Like
Each pail is a different color, with the villain glaring out from the side. Ursula is purple, Maleficent is green with her horns in black, Scar is orange with flames around him, Jafar is red and Cruella De Vil is white with her two-tone hair. All five have a gold handle shaped like the Golden Arches.
A label in the images reads “Every bucket comes with stickers,” and the sheets mix Disney characters with McDonald’s items. The Ursula bucket is shown decorated with Ariel, an eel and a golden seashell, and its sticker sheet also includes a tiny Happy Meal box.
How To Get A Disney Villains Boo Bucket
Boo Buckets come with a Happy Meal, and the images carry the Happy Meal logo. That is how the pails have been sold in past years, and they double as trick-or-treat buckets once the food is gone. Last year’s set arrived on October 21 and was available at participating restaurants while supplies lasted.
No price has been shared. If the October 20 date holds, the buckets would launch 11 days before Halloween, one day earlier than last year.
For Disney collectors, the pails would join a Halloween season that already includes the Hatbox Ghost bucket at Disneyland.
A Big Change From Last Year
Boo Buckets have featured McDonald’s own Halloween characters in recent years. The 2025 lineup was Ghost, Pumpkin, Goblin, Cat and Zombie, and the 2023 buckets were Monster, Skeleton, Mummy and Vampire. A Villains set would trade those for five of Disney’s best-known bad guys.
It is also not what fans were expecting. A rumor that spread on Facebook over the summer pointed to a classic monsters lineup with a witch, a vampire, a skeleton, a werewolf and a cat.
Either way, this is a milestone year for the pails. Boo Buckets debuted in 1986, 40 years ago, and came back in 2022 after several years off the menu.
