The Sleeping Beauty Castle bridge is back open at Disneyland Paris. The restored bridge opened to guests on Halloween morning, October 31, after close to six months behind construction walls, and guests are walking across it again.
DLP Report shared the first photos from the park this morning, along with a quick rundown of what changed.
🔧 After 6 months of work, the refurbished Sleeping Beauty Castle bridge has been unveiled today. The structure received structural repairs, new mounding, refreshed rockwork, a waterproof granite floor and a new compass star. Great job!

A Long Wait For A Reopening Date
Disneyland Paris showed off the finished bridge on October 12, the 35th anniversary of the castle’s unveiling, and said it was set to reopen. It never put a day on that. Later in the month, a behind-the-scenes video for passholders said the bridge was almost ready, but still gave no date. In the end it simply opened this morning.
What To Look For When You Cross
Look down first. The center of the bridge now has a compass rose of natural stone and brass, with Flora’s red and Merryweather’s blue pointing in opposite directions, a nod to their fight over the color of Aurora’s dress. A green arc for Fauna sits between them, and a brass medallion of Aurora’s crown ringed with thorns marks the middle. A brass fleur-de-lis points north, a callback to the brass direction letters the bridge had when the park opened in 1992.
The stamped concrete underfoot is gone. In its place is granite paving made of 2,735 pieces fitted to the curve of the arch, which Disneyland Paris says is easier to maintain. The limestone balusters along the sides were rebuilt and waterproofed against spray from the fountains below, and the drawbridge has a new deck of tropical timber.
Much of the work is harder to spot. The structure under the decorative stonework was completely rebuilt, along with the arches and the carved supports beneath them. The faux stone on the sides and under the arches was sculpted by hand and painted in five shades so it blends with the rest of the castle. New landscaping finishes it off.
If you are at the park this weekend, you can once again walk across the bridge and through the castle into Fantasyland.
