Emma Corrin has a very clear idea of what their next Marvel project should be. In a new interview with Variety, the actress who played Cassandra Nova in Deadpool and Wolverine said they want a Step Brothers-style sibling comedy featuring Cassandra Nova and her brother Charles Xavier, better known as Professor X.
Corrin told Variety they want a sibling comedy like Step Brothers and encouraged the internet to make it happen.
Who Is Cassandra Nova?
Cassandra Nova is one of the most powerful telepaths in the Marvel universe and one of the X-Men’s most feared villains. In the comics, she is the twin sister of Charles Xavier. Charles killed her in the womb, but she survived as a mummudrai, a parasitic entity, before engineering a physical body using his DNA. She orchestrated one of the most devastating attacks in X-Men history, ordering the destruction of the mutant nation of Genosha.
Corrin’s version in Deadpool and Wolverine served as the film’s main villain. Her performance earned widespread praise for its menace and physicality. The character ended the film alive but weakened, leaving the door open for a return.
Could It Actually Happen?
Professor X has been played by Patrick Stewart in the main X-Men timeline and James McAvoy in the Fox prequel films. Stewart also appeared in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in the MCU. A main-timeline MCU Professor X has not yet been formally introduced, but with the X-Men reportedly on the way in the next phase of Marvel storytelling, that introduction seems inevitable.
Whether Corrin’s pitch reaches anyone at Marvel Studios remains to be seen. But a darkly comedic sibling dynamic between two of the most powerful telepaths in the Marvel universe has undeniable appeal. For the full Variety interview, visit Variety.com.
