Nicolas Cage Says He Does Not Know If Spider-Noir Will Get A Season 2

Spider-Noir wrapped up its first season on Amazon Prime Video this week, and Nicolas Cage is being candid about what comes next. When asked whether the show will return for a second season, Cage told Variety he simply does not know. But he made clear he is proud of what the team created regardless of the outcome.

Cage said the show works as a standalone experience. Whether it comes back or not, everyone involved achieved what they set out to do. He added that he would wait and see what happens.

What Is Spider-Noir?

Spider-Noir is a live-action series on Amazon Prime Video starring Nicolas Cage as Peter Parker. In this version, Peter is an aging private detective in 1930s New York who also happens to be that universe’s Spider-Man. The series is set in the same noir-styled alternate universe first introduced in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, where Cage also voiced the character. The live-action version leans fully into a black-and-white noir aesthetic. It has drawn strong critical praise for Cage’s performance and the show’s distinctive tone.

Will Spider-Noir Come Back?

Amazon has not officially announced a second season. Spider-Noir is a Sony-produced series distributed through Amazon, with Marvel having some involvement given the character rights structure. The show received positive reviews and built a passionate audience. But streaming renewal decisions are rarely straightforward, especially for prestige limited series.

Cage’s comments suggest he has not received any clear signal from the studios involved. Whether Spider-Noir continues or not, the first season stands as a genuinely distinct piece of Marvel storytelling. For the full Variety interview, visit Variety.com.
