EPCOT’s summer refurbishment push is hitting milestones on two fronts. The World Celebration reflecting pool near the Imagination and Land pavilions is nearly complete with only refilling left to go, while over in World Showcase, Der Teddybär has reopened in the Germany Pavilion, according to BlogMickey.com.
The Reflecting Pool Nears The Finish Line
The reflecting pool sits in World Celebration between the Imagination and Land pavilions, close to CommuniCore Plaza and just below the monorail beamway. Crews drained the basin in mid-June, cleared out the river rocks and the wishing coins guests had tossed in over the years, and applied a fresh finish to the pool floor before restoring the rocks in recent days. The drained basin has been an unavoidable sight for guests passing through the area, but with the structural phase seemingly wrapped, the remaining step is the satisfying one. Once water returns, the pool regains the calm, mirror-like character that makes this stretch of World Celebration one of the more pleasant strolls in the park, particularly at night when the lighting plays across the surface.
Der Teddybär Is Back In Business
Meanwhile in World Showcase, the Germany Pavilion’s beloved toy shop has reopened following its own refurbishment, even as a trio of projects continues around the pavilion. Der Teddybär is known for its plush, wooden toys, and imported German playthings, and alongside Karamell-Küche it anchors one of World Showcase’s most charming stops for families.
Polished Up Before The Busy Season
The timing on both projects makes sense. EPCOT’s festival machine ramps up hard in the fall, rolling from Food & Wine straight into the holidays. Walt Disney World has already revealed its 2026 holiday season dates, including the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, when the park’s crowds are at their heaviest and every reopened storefront and photo spot counts.
Disney has not announced an official completion date for the reflecting pool, but based on the state of the site, water should be back soon. We will share photos once the work wraps, and keep tabs on the remaining Germany Pavilion projects as they finish up.
